Student Scholarships

Since 1998, GEF has administered 430 scholarships valued at $413,280 to GHS graduating seniors. These $500 to $1,000 scholarships recognize the academic achievements, community service and work commitment of Grandview’s top students. The Jess L. Taylor Scholarship Fund, the more than 20 scholarships established in memory or honor of individuals, and many additional GEF scholarships supported by fundraising activities, have helped these students take the next steps in their educational and career goals.

For Current and Past Scholarship Winners – Need information about accessing your scholarship?
If you received a scholarship that is processed through the Grandview Education Foundation, there are certain steps that you must take in order to receive the money. Your college will have a deadline for payment of fees. If you have pre-enrolled, the college will hold those classes for you as long as you meet that deadline. Four weeks before fees are due, you must ask in writing for your scholarship funds to be sent to the school.

Please include the following information in your written request:
1. Your name, address, phone number and the name of the scholarship you received
2. Your e-mail address
3. Your Social Security number
4. Name and address of the college you are attending

Send the request to:

Employment Scholarship Program

In 1998, GEF’s Employment Scholarship Program (ESP) was established in partnership with the Grandview Area Chamber of Commerce, Grandview businesses, Grandview High School and Longview Community College. By 2011, 83 GHS seniors received valuable work experience with local companies and more than $235,000 in post-secondary education scholarship funds through the ESP. This unique program is the only one like it in Missouri, where local businesses receive quality employees and the financial support stays invested in the community.

As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, GEF can help any individual or business establish an ongoing or one-time memorial, special recognition or business-focused scholarship. Here is a how-to sheet to download for beginning the process of starting your own scholarship.
